Job summary

PARR Lumber Company is seeking a Counter Salesperson at a Salem, OR location. You will greet customers, provide sales assistance, stock shelves, and support deliveries while maintaining high service standards. This role requires strong communication, English proficiency, and a friendly team orientation.

You will engage with coworkers and customers daily, handle basic quotes, process orders, and participate in safety programs to ensure a clean, organized store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to operate POS system, computer, smartphone and scanner.
• Type 30+ WPM.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Class C driver’s license or alternative transportation preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Knowledge of retail sales principles and building materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide sales assistance to walk-in and telephone customers.
• Receive and stock inventory and merchandise store displays.
• Assist loading customer vehicles and preparing loads for delivery.
• Process orders, quotes, and basic estimates.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
• Coordinate with managers and other departments as needed.
