Job summary

Johnstone Supply | Balsan Group is seeking a dynamic Counter Sales Associate to assist customers with HVAC products, answer questions, and process sales at the counter. You will provide product knowledge, handle transactions, and contribute to team goals in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves upselling, coordinating with inventory, and offering basic technical guidance. A high school diploma and strong communication skills are required, with growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer and software proficiency.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical counter/warehouse tasks.
• Preferred: 2+ years of customer service or sales experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in finding the right HVAC products.
• Answer questions regarding products, pricing, availability, and application.
• Provide timely, professional support for customer inquiries and concerns.
• Recommend solutions based on customer needs.
• Provide pricing, quotes, discounts, and tax calculations.
• Upsell additional products and solutions when appropriate.
• Follow up on sales inquiries and leads to drive additional business.
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems.
• Generate new and repeat business through strong product knowledge.
• Assist customers with basic HVAC product and application questions.
• Refer complex issues to TSA or appropriate team members.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs.
• Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining inventory.

What You’ll Do

Customer Service

• Greet and assist customers in finding the right HVAC products
• Answer questions regarding products, pricing, availability, and application
• Provide timely, professional support for customer inquiries and concerns
• Recommend solutions based on customer needs
• Provide accurate inventory availability information

Sales Support

• Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems
• Generate new and repeat business through strong product knowledge
• Provide pricing, quotes, discounts, and tax calculations
• Upsell additional products and solutions when appropriate
• Follow up on sales inquiries and leads to drive additional business

Technical Support

• Assist customers with basic HVAC product and application questions
• Refer more complex technical issues to TSA or appropriate team members

Inventory & Admin

• Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs
• Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining organized inventory
• Support general administrative tasks (data entry, filing, phone/email support)
• Maintain accurate records of transactions and customer interactions
