New Morning Market is seeking a friendly counter attendant to provide guests with efficient service, maintain attractive grab-and-go displays, and ensure proper storage and temperatures. You will engage customers, answer questions, and assist with product selection while upholding high sanitation standards.

Weekend/evening availability is required. Prior experience in natural/organic foods or grocery retail is preferred, and you will be part of a team dedicated to fresh, quality offerings.

Description

The food service counter attendant provides guests with efficient food service by maintaining attractively merchandised displays and an abundant level of inventory in the grab and go areas. Responsible for maintaining proper temperatures in coolers, as well as proper safety, sanitation and food handling standards.

• Sharing a working knowledge of unique freshly prepared products.

• Demonstrating the highest standard of safe food handling as defined by the Health Department.
• Anticipating customer needs and providing service in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Assisting customers with questions and product selection by suggestive selling.

A day in the life:

• Following established procedures, continuously stock and display foods in an attractive manner.
• Ensure that food items are rotated by date and all out of date items are removed from the case.
• Ensure counter and food storage areas are maintained in sanitary, orderly condition meeting Health Department standards.
• Adhere to safe food handling procedures at the counter, walk in and waste management areas.
• Monitor and record case and food product temperatures to ensure safe food storage guidelines are met.

Requirements

• Weekend/evening availability required.
• Previous experience in natural/organic foods, grocery or retail preferred.
