Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for activities in the Count Room to ensure the integrity of currency counting from the gaming floor and compliance with Ohio Lottery Commission regulations. The role also involves providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain protection of large sums of currency, ensuring loss prevention through meticulous care.
  2. Implement procedures and controls to safeguard counted receipts.
  3. Mechanically count contents of table drop boxes to determine drop and win amounts.
  4. Count contents of bill validator boxes using mechanical assistance.
  5. Monitor and report any issues affecting currency security in the Count Room.
  6. Reconcile total funds to verify count accuracy.
  7. Transfer documentation to the Accounting Department daily.
  8. Prepare funds with proper documentation for transfer to the Cage Department.
  9. Manage all aspects of counting, from opening boxes to final reconciliation.
  10. Perform any additional related duties as required.
Qualifications

Typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent, plus two months of on-the-job training. Additional requirements include:

  1. Ability to maintain necessary regulatory licenses.
  2. Successful background check and drug screening.
  3. Knowledge of AS/400 systems and 10-key calculators.
  4. Ability to operate currency counting equipment.
  5. Understanding of cashiering or banking operations.
  6. Effective communication skills with team members and management.
  7. Ability to count and separate currency and chips.
  8. Leadership skills to motivate and direct subordinates.
  9. Physical ability to move around, bend, squat, reach, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  10. Ability to push/pull heavy carts with assistance.
  11. Stand for most of the shift and navigate the Count Room efficiently.
  12. Flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules.
