Job summary

Alpharus Health in Springfield, IL is seeking an experienced Counselor III (LCPC or LCSW) for outpatient services.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide counseling for clients with substance use and dual diagnoses.

The role requires a master's degree and license, with a schedule Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM plus one evening shift.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field is required.
• Current professional clinical license (LCPC or LCSW) in state of hire is required.
• Minimum 4 years of clinical experience in substance use and dual-diagnoses.
• Related work experience with adolescent/adult populations in residential treatment is required.

Responsibilities

• Completing comprehensive assessments and treatment plans and providing substance use and/or mental health counseling.
• Developing and implementing complex treatment and discharge plans for clients with dual diagnoses and related issues.
• Documenting treatment progress and maintaining records and charts.
• Serving as a resource to staff and providing supervision as needed.
• May develop and facilitate training for treatment staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Location: Springfield Outpatient- 2200 Lake Victoria Drive Springfield, IL 62703

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM, with one evening shift of 12:00PM - 8:30PM

Outpatient (LCPC or LCSW) Substance Use Counselors are responsible for:

• Completing comprehensive assessments and treatment plans and providing substance abuse and/or mental health counseling services to clients
• Developing and implementing complex treatment and discharge plans for clients with dual diagnoses, social or mental health issues
• Documenting treatment and discharge plans, clients' progress and responses to treatment and maintaining related records and charts
• Serving as a professional resource to the treatment staff in resolving complex case problems and may provide clinical supervision as needed
• May develop and facilitate training for treatment staff
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a related field required
• Current professional clinical license (LCPC or LCSW) in state of hire required
• Minimum 4 years of clinical experience in the treatment of substance use and dual-diagnoses
• Related work experience with program specific population (adolescent/adult) and residential treatment setting required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to speak with others in order to exchange information and provide counseling.
• Ability to record and proofread information on forms and charts.
• Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and hear speech.
• Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data on a regular basis.

Compensation (based on experience and credentials)

• $51,463 - 82,330 annually
• Starting rates are determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and relevant skills.
• Alpharus Health conducts annual performance reviews, with merit increase eligibility determined by employee performance and organizational financial performance.
