Job summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Licensed Counselor or Social Worker to provide comprehensive behavioral health services. The schedule is Monday–Friday 8am–5pm with rotating Saturdays 9am–12pm.

The Counselor will deliver core and ancillary therapies, maintain treatment plans, and coordinate with referral sources, court systems, and other providers to support discharge planning. Work within a multidisciplinary team to complete all required documentation and compliance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in relevant field.
• Valid Louisiana state license in counseling, addiction counseling, or social work.
• At least 1 year of substance use disorder treatment modalities with DSM-V experience.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to assigned clients; conduct group therapies, individual counseling, and family therapy as per treatment plans.
• Act as liaison to outside agencies, participate in case planning conferences, and attend court hearings when necessary.
• Maintain contact with agency personnel and client’s support network regarding progress and crises.
• Maintain clinical case files including assessments, treatment plans, case notes, and discharge summaries.
• Apply ASAM Criteria to treatment planning and ensure documentation is up-to-date.
• Collaborate with other departments; support initial and concurrent authorizations; assist with billing processes.

JobSummary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time LicensedCounselor or Social Worker. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, including rotating Saturdays 9am-12pm.

The Counselor will provide specialized servicesfor the assigned caseload, provide core and ancillary group therapies weekly,individual counseling and when appropriate, family therapy. The Counselor hasthe main responsibility of maintaining communication with the referral source,court systems, and other involved human service providers as related to theclient’s ongoing treatment and discharge planning. The Counselor is responsiblefor working within the multidisciplinary team to develop treatment planning,treatment case reviews, and all written documentation as required by theagency, state and federal courts, and all funding sources.

Responsibilitiesand Duties

It is the duty andresponsibility of the Counselor to:

• provide Clinical services to assigned clients;conduct group therapies daily, individual counseling and/or family therapy as outlined intreatment plans; co-lead group therapies; conduct family assessments/therapy
• function as a liaison to outside agencies,participate in case planning conferences, and treatment meetings and, whennecessary, attend court hearings and represent the agency and client(s);
• maintain contact with and is available toAgency personnel, client’s drug court officer, and family members regardingclient's progress, problems and crises;
• maintain clinical case file for each client toinclude: assessments, Individual Treatment Plans
• Case notes, and discharge summaries;
• apply ASAM Criteria to treatment planning;
• maximize units of services and maintaincontract units of service by working with clients to stay engaged in treatment;
• provide crisis management when indicated byclient need;
• assist with the planning and organization oftherapeutic client actives both at and outside of the facility;
• ensure all written reports are up-to-date incase file;
• ensure completion of electronic medical recorddocumentation;
• attend staff and other meetings;
• attend regularly scheduled in-service training;
• participate in quarterly training with staff;
• complete all Incident Reports prior to the endof scheduled shift as required by Incident Policy and Procedure;
• adhere to all Louisiana Department of Healthand Agency contract requirements;
• maintain COA standards and participate in COAsite audits;
• collaborate with other departments;
• work with Bayou Health providers for initialauthorization and concurrent authorizations;
• ensure that all sign in sheets are printed forgroup and all groups are batched for billing; and
• perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualificationsand Skills

Minimum qualificationsinclude the following:

• Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work orCounseling
• valid Louisiana State issued license ineither counseling, addiction counseling, or social work
• At least 1 year of substance use disordertreatment modalities (emphasis on Minnesota Model) and DSM-V experience
• Excellent communication skills
