Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Licensed Counselor or Social Worker to join our mission of providing a comprehensive continuum of care in Louisiana, spanning primary care, behavioral health, and substance use disorder treatment.

The Counselor will deliver specialized services for the assigned caseload, lead core and ancillary group therapies weekly, provide individual counseling, and, when appropriate, family therapy, while maintaining communication with referral sources,

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work or Counseling.
• A valid Louisiana State issued license in either counseling, addiction counseling, or social work.
• At least 1 year of substance use disorder treatment modalities (emphasis on Minnesota Model) and DSM-V experience.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to assigned clients, conduct group therapies daily, and provide individual and family counseling per treatment plans.
• Function as liaison to outside agencies, participate in case planning conferences, and attend court hearings when required.
• Maintain clinical case files with assessments, treatment plans, notes, and discharge summaries.
• Apply ASAM Criteria to treatment planning and ensure all documentation is up to date.
• Collaborate with Bayou Health providers for authorizations and coordinate billing and related documentation.

Job Summary

OdysseyHouse Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Licensed Counselor or SocialWorker. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

TheCounselor will provide specialized services for the assigned caseload, providecore and ancillary group therapies weekly, individual counseling and whenappropriate, family therapy. The Counselor has the main responsibility ofmaintaining communication with the referral source, court systems, and otherinvolved human service providers as related to the client’s ongoing treatmentand discharge planning.

Responsibilitiesand Duties

Itis the duty and responsibility of the Counselor to:

• provide clinical services to assigned clients; conduct group therapiesdaily, individual counseling and/orfamily therapy as outlined in treatment plans; co-lead group therapies; conductfamily assessments/therapy;
• function as a liaison to outside agencies, participate in caseplanning conferences, and treatment meetings and, when necessary, attend courthearings and represent the agency and client(s);
• maintain contact with and is available to Agency personnel, client’sdrug court officer, and family members regarding client's progress, problemsand crises;
• maintain clinical case file for each client to include: assessments,Individual Treatment Plans, case notes, and discharge summaries;
• apply ASAM Criteria to treatment planning;
• maximize units of services and maintain contract units of service byworking with clients to stay engaged in treatment;
• provide crisis management when indicated by client need;
• assist with the planning and organization of therapeutic clientactives both at and outside of the facility;
• ensure all written reports are up-to-date in case file;
• ensure completion of electronic medical record documentation;
• attend staff and other meetings;
• attend regularly scheduled in-service training;
• participate in quarterly training with staff;
• complete all Incident Reports prior to the end of scheduled shift asrequired by Incident Policy and Procedure;
• adhere to all Louisiana Department of Health and Agency contractrequirements;
• maintain COA standards and participate in COA site audits;
• collaborate with other departments;
• work with Bayou Health providers for initial authorization andconcurrent authorizations;
• ensure that all sign in sheets are printed for group and all groupsare batched for billing; and
• perform all other duties as assigned.
