Job summary

Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Counselor to deliver educational programming to inmates within Shirley, MA, with a focus on approved curricula and documentation in case records.

The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and adherence to correctional education standards. You may work beyond 40 hours per week to meet programming needs, including potential evening or weekend sessions.

Qualifications

• BA/MA or 2 years equivalent in criminal justice, human services, education or closely related field required.
• DOC experience and/or Alcohol/Drug certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all inmates are provided with education in the assigned curriculum approved by the Department of Correction and are responsible for written documentation in the case records.
• Participating in a multi-disciplinary team meeting on a weekly basis or as directed.
• Working the hours required to meet the business needs of the organization including the ability to work more than 40 hours in a work week which may include evening and weekend programming.

Location: Shirley, MA - Shirley Souza Baranowski Massachusetts Correctional Institution
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Pay rate: $26.92/hour ($56,000 annually). If candidates complete and pass an internal Spanish Fluency Assessment, employees eligible for a 10% salary increase, $29.6154/hour (61,000 annually)
