Job summary

Brightli in Missouri seeks a dedicated Counselor to support individuals on their recovery journey. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver individual and group counseling within the Recovery Services department.

Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) as defined by the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB)
• Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred
• Missouri credential required, including CADC, CRADC, CRAADC, RADC, CCJP, or Co-Occurring Disorders credential

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services that support client recovery, personal growth, and improved daily functioning
• Develop therapeutic relationships that encourage engagement, resilience, and progress toward treatment goals
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and screenings to identify client needs and recommend appropriate services
• Create individualized treatment plans that align with client goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate holistic and effective client care
• Support clients through transitions of care by developing transition plans and completing required summaries
• Respond to crisis situations using sound clinical judgment and effective de‑escalation techniques
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency, state, and regulatory requirements
• Manage an assigned caseload while ensuring quality service delivery and timely completion of responsibilities
• Represent the organization professionally within the community and foster positive relationships with referral partners
• Participate in ongoing professional development activities to strengthen clinical knowledge and skills
• Adhere to ethical standards, professional practices, and organizational policies

Key Responsibilities

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications

• Credentialed as a Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) as defined by the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB)
• Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred
• Missouri credential required, including one of the following:
• Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC)
• Certified Reciprocal Alcohol Drug Counselor (CRADC)
• Certified Reciprocal Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor (CRAADC)
• Registered Alcohol Drug Counselor (RADC)
• Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP)
• Credential of Co-Occurring Disorders

Additional Qualifications

• Valid driver's license in state of residency required
• Willingness to become licensed in additional states
• Experience or comfort providing telehealth services
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively engage and support diverse client populations
• Proficiency in crisis intervention and de‑escalation techniques
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within 3 months of employment
