Job summary

The Counselor position at Suffolk County House of Corrections in Boston, MA, focuses on delivering psychoeducation and evidence-based treatment to offenders in a correctional setting. Eligible candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in human services or criminal justice, with CADC/LADC II preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, criminal justice or closely related field.
• CADC, LADC II or similar certification preferred.
• Experience with justice-involved individuals and correctional settings preferred.
• Able to pass extensive background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Providing psychoeducation and evidence-based treatment to offenders according to the approved curriculum and completing all required documentation in the OMS case record.
• Facilitating 2-3 groups daily, based on current scheduling.
• Prioritizing tasks and responsibilities to complete duties on time.
• Working cooperatively with SCSD personnel to ensure smooth operation of the program.
