Job summary

The Sheltercare Program of Northern Virginia is hiring a full-time Counselor to work with at-risk adolescents in a residential setting in Alexandria, VA. The role requires providing supervision, counseling, case management, and family engagement.

Responsibilities include individual and group sessions, service planning, documentation, and collaboration with the treatment team. Bachelor’s degree required; bilingual skills a plus. Weekend and night availability is required.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual Spanish a plus.

• De-escalating resident's behavior in challenging situations.
• Completing required documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, case notes, and other necessary paperwork.
• Transporting youth to off-campus activities and events.
• Acting as an integral part of the team, collaborating with other staff members to ensure the well-being of our residents.

We are currently seeking a full time Counselor to join our team! We are a residential program catering to at-risk adolescents. The schedule for this position includes day, evening, and weekend hours.
