Job summary

Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona seeks a full-time Counseling Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of its counseling programs. You will coordinate program activities, support accreditation efforts, and ensure high-quality student services across practicum and internship experiences.

The role requires a master's degree in counseling, active licensure, and 2+ years in the field, plus familiarity with academic platforms and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in professional counseling, clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, or other related counseling degree.
  • Licensed in a counseling related field such as professional counseling.
  • Two or more years of experience in the counseling field.
  • One or more years of post-secondary academic experience in any capacity.
  • Knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of academic platforms and related tools/software.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be able to pass preemployment investigations.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of a program to achieve stated goals.
  • Draft program/process guidelines and document accreditation requirements.
  • Collect and analyze data; prepare required program reports.
  • Prepare documents for approval of new or revised programs or initiatives.
  • Serve on counseling-related committees as needed.
  • Liaise with NBCC and students for national exam information.
  • Oversee practicum and internship site supervisors and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Review practicum and internship policies and trainings.
  • Address student and site concerns regarding practicum and internship.
  • Maintain partnerships with OFE, FT&D, FS, and other GCU support services.
  • Analyze student academic data and support improvement plans.
  • Assist faculty with program improvements and decision-making presentations.
  • Facilitate programmatic reviews and track student data (withdrawals, failures).
  • Represent program in academic committee meetings and drive process improvements.
  • Provide timely responses to student and practicum-related issues.
  • Support campus life and student engagement activities as needed.
  • Update collateral materials, catalogs, websites with key information.
