Job summary
Southern Methodist University’s Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling. The position includes teaching core counseling courses, advising, curriculum development, supervision of students, and service to the School and University.
Required: a CACREP-accredited doctoral degree in counseling or counselor education; teaching and clinical supervision experience; and
Qualifications
- PhD or EdD in counseling or counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program.
- Experience teaching counseling courses and supervising clinical work.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and service to the profession.
Responsibilities
- Teach counseling courses and share generalist teaching responsibilities across the core curriculum in line with CACREP standards.
- Provide academic advising to students (individual and group).
- Contribute to curriculum development and program oversight.
- Provide clinical supervision of students in relation to clinical courses.
- Support departmental projects and events within the School and University.
- Provide service to the School and University.
