Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Opportunity

The Experiences Business & Legal Affairs team is looking for an experienced attorney to handle a wide array of responsibilities related to Netflix’s Experiences group. The Experiences organization at Netflix creates, develops, and produces ticketed, location-based entertainment based on Netflix’s series and films. Through immersive experiences that expand and enhance stories from the screen, the Experiences team gives fans around the world the opportunity to step into their favorite titles. Recent successes include the launch of Netflix House in King of Prussia (Pennsylvania) and Dallas (Texas), award-winning runs of Stranger Things: The First Shadow stage show on Broadway and on London’s West End, as well as title-specific experiences (Stranger Things: Escape the Dark; Wednesday: Eve of the Outcasts; One Piece: Quest for the Devil Fruit; Squid Game: The Trials).

The Role

In this role, you will be deeply embedded within a business function and should be comfortable interacting daily with business and operational partners, creative/production, marketing, and legal cross-functional partners, and making decisions that have legal and business implications.

  • A variety of Business & Legal Affairs matters related to the operations and commercialization (revenue generation) of Netflix House, including managing a high volume of vendor/agency agreements related to ticketing, vendors, and service providers; supporting group and event sales; collaborating with marketing on programming;
  • Partnership with Real Estate and Workplace teams on safety, employment, incident management and permitting associated with Netflix House physical locations, including permitting; and
  • Collaboration and alignment with Marketing, Tax, Accounting, Finance, and the broader Netflix legal organization on matters related to Netflix House and immersive experiences.

With a deep understanding of immersive experiences and their operational needs, you will be able to provide practical business and legal advice, supporting a fast-moving business & creative team.

This role is based in Los Angeles, CA, and reports to the global Senior Director of Consumer Products & Experiences. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, demonstrate great initiative, be flexible and open to supporting emerging initiatives, and be excited and inspired by the opportunity and Netflix culture.

What we need from you:
  • JD or equivalent with relevant practical experience in the Location-Based Entertainment industry (e.g., theme parks, touring/concerts, LBE production work). 7+ years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously and reliably within tight timeframes in a fast-paced, high-performance environment, facing new/novel questions and issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both spoken & written).
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to exercise sound judgment in the absence of perfect information.
  • Ability to take initiative to identify and solve problems in a business-friendly and solutions-oriented manner.
  • Ability to think strategically, commercially, and practically, with a high degree of flexibility and risk tolerance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
