Job summary

Upbound Group is seeking a Counsel, Legal to support contracts, compliance, litigation, and regulatory matters across the company. This role partners with senior legal and compliance teams, business stakeholders, operations, and outside counsel to identify and manage risk and ensure activities align with applicable standards.

Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating MSAs and NDAs, supporting audits and investigations, advising internal stakeholders, and improving Legal team workflows

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited law school.
• Bar admission in at least one US state.
• 1–3 years of legal experience in contracts, litigation, compliance, or regulatory support.
• Ability to collaborate with senior leaders and outside counsel.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, revise, and negotiate commercial agreements and other legal documents.
• Support compliance evaluations, due diligence, and risk assessments.
• Assist in managing litigation, disputes, and regulatory matters.
• Improve legal processes and workflows using technology.
