The State of Connecticut, Department of Administrative Services (DAS) seeks a Counsel and Compliance Officer (Executive Assistant 1) in Hartford to lead agency-wide risk assessment and compliance processes.
You will negotiate and draft legal documents, oversee hearings under the Uniform Administrative Procedures Act, advise senior leadership, and supervise staff to ensure adherence to statutes, regulations, and policies.

The State of Connecticut, Department of Administrative Services (DAS), is now accepting applications for an exciting Counsel and Compliance Officer (Executive Assistant 1) role.
Please Note: Incumbents must be admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut
The Counsel and Compliance Officer is a collaborative and trusted partner responsible for reviewing agency-wide processes and procedures, evaluating best practice and risks, conducting administrative hearings, and providing strategic recommendations to the Commissioner and executive staff to support continued adherence and compliance to state statutes, laws and regulations. They will recommend operating and process improvements; coordinate compliance with new and existing statutory requirements, and act as the liaison to the Auditor of Public Accounts.
This position is appointed in accordance with sections 5-198 (10) of the Connecticut General Statutes.
Acts as an executive assistant to a state elective officer or department head as defined in Section 4-5 of the Connecticut General Statutes and performs such duties as are assigned.
