Ladders, a leader in Finance & Insurance space, is seeking a Counsel to join its fast-paced legal team. This role focuses on commercial contracting and practical business guidance, partnering with internal stakeholders to review terms, manage routine agreements, and identify risks while keeping deals moving.

The successful candidate will have a JD, 3–5 years in corporate legal or law firm contracts, and strong writing and communication skills, with experience using contract management tools.

Qualifications

• Requires JD and bar admission in US jurisdictions.
• 3–5 years in a corporate legal department or law firm focusing on contracts.
• Strong legal writing skills with ability to produce clear contract documents.
• Ability to independently manage multiple contract matters with minimal oversight.
• Effective communication to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Proficiency with contract management tools and databases.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including MSAs and NDAs.
• Manage routine contract requests from intake through execution with sound judgment.
• Conduct legal research to support contract positions and identify risks.
• Prepare summaries and assessments related to contracts and negotiations.
• Interface with business stakeholders to clarify contract requirements and terms.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain accurate records.

For our client, we are seeking a Counsel to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This attorney will support a fast-paced legal function focused on commercial contracting and practical business guidance. The role will partner closely with internal stakeholders to review terms, manage routine agreements, and help identify risk while keeping deals moving efficiently. Success in this position will require strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to balance legal protection with business needs.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including master services agreements and NDAs
• Manage routine contract requests from intake through execution with sound judgment
• Conduct legal research to support contract positions and identify potential risks
• Prepare summaries and assessments related to contracts and negotiations
• Interface with business stakeholders to clarify contract requirements and terms
• Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain accurate records

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited law school and admitted to practice in one or more U.S. jurisdictions
• 3–5 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm focused on contracts
• Strong legal writing skills with the ability to produce clear contract documents
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple contract matters with minimal oversight
• Effective communication skills for explaining legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
• Proficiency with contract management tools and databases
