Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to a U.S. state bar, preferably New York
• 2-7 years of relevant experience in a legal setting
• Solid expertise in commercial contracts and data protection regulations
• Proficiency in using AI tools in legal work
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills
• Good business and legal judgment
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Counsel, Commercial to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space.

This role will partner closely with business stakeholders to support commercial contracting and provide practical legal guidance on emerging issues. The position will help enable the company’s go-to-market efforts by balancing business objectives, privacy considerations, and sound legal risk management.

It will also collaborate across Product, sales, marketing, and engineering to ensure agreements and advice keep pace with evolving products and commercial needs.

Location: New York, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000 annually
