Job summary

LHH is seeking a contracts attorney to own complex technology and commercial agreements from intake to execution. You will manage a high volume of SaaS and vendor contracts, assess privacy and cybersecurity risks, and provide practical guidance to business partners in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve contracting templates, playbooks, and processes, while maintaining high drafting accuracy and strong stakeholder relationships. A J.D.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum five years of relevant legal experience in law firm, in-house, or both.
• Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating technology and commercial agreements.
• Direct experience handling SaaS and vendor contracts.
• Ability to independently manage the complete contracting lifecycle.
• Strong attention to detail, drafting precision, and quality control.
• Understanding of data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory considerations in commercial agreements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and independently manage a high volume of commercial agreements from intake through execution.
• Handle SaaS agreements, AI-related agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and other technology and procurement agreements.
• Support producer, carrier, and insurance distribution agreements when needed.
• Identify contractual, regulatory, privacy, cybersecurity, and business risks and provide concise risk assessments with practical recommendations.
• Balance contracting speed with risk management and escalate nonstandard or high-risk issues with actionable solutions.
• Serve as a key legal contact for contracting workflows and process improvements; maintain templates and playbooks.

Job description

This is a highly visible opportunity for an attorney who enjoys negotiating sophisticated technology and commercial agreements, developing practical solutions, and working closely with business leaders in a fast-moving, regulated environment.

This is not a paper-pushing role. The successful candidate will be a confident contracts owner who understands how to analyze an agreement, identify meaningful risk, maintain exceptional drafting accuracy, and provide clear, commercially practical recommendations. This position is full-time hours as a W2 employee in a contract capacity with the possibility for permanent hire.

What You’ll Do

Own Commercial and Technology Contracting

• Draft, review, negotiate, and independently manage a high volume of commercial agreements from intake through execution
• Handle SaaS agreements, AI-related agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and other technology and procurement agreements
• Support producer, carrier, and insurance distribution agreements when needed
• Identify contractual, regulatory, privacy, cybersecurity, and business risks
• Provide concise risk assessments and practical recommendations to internal stakeholders
• Balance contracting speed with appropriate risk management
• Escalate nonstandard or high-risk issues while offering actionable solutions

Improve Contracting Operations

• Serve as a key legal contact for contracting workflows and process improvements
• Maintain and improve templates, standard forms, playbooks, and fallback positions
• Identify recurring bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions
• Help establish and track metrics related to contract turnaround time, consistency, and risk
• Contribute to self-service tools and contracting resources for business partners

Partner with the Business

• Collaborate with Procurement, Technology, Marketing, Compliance, and Insurance teams
• Translate complex legal concepts into clear, business-friendly guidance
• Develop strong relationships with stakeholders and proactively address legal issues early in the contracting process

What You Bring

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• At least five years of relevant legal experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or combination of both
• Hands-on experience drafting and negotiating technology and commercial agreements
• Direct experience handling SaaS and vendor contracts
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage the complete contracting lifecycle
• Strong attention to detail, drafting precision, and quality control
• Understanding of data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory considerations in commercial agreements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Highly Preferred

• Insurance, insurtech, or property and casualty industry experience
• Experience negotiating producer, carrier, or insurance distribution agreements
• Experience with AI-related vendor agreements
• Experience improving contract workflows or contract lifecycle management systems
• Familiarity with consumer protection or insurance regulatory requirements
