Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Couchbase DBA to manage and optimize Couchbase clusters across production and non-production environments. The role emphasizes high availability, performance tuning, data modeling, and scalable architecture design, with remote work options.

Responsibilities include upgrades, security, monitoring, and automation to ensure DR readiness and XDCR replication. Eligible for Cognizant’s incentive program and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience managing and supporting Couchbase clusters in production and non-production environments.
• Design scalable Couchbase architectures, including cluster config, data modeling, replication, and capacity planning.
• Perform performance tuning, N1QL indexing, and XDCR troubleshooting.
• Plan upgrades, patching, rebalance, and maintenance with minimal business disruption.
• Implement RBAC, encryption, auditing, and security compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Couchbase database clusters across production and non-production environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
• Design and implement scalable Couchbase database architectures, including cluster configuration, data modeling, replication, and capacity planning.
• Perform database performance tuning, SQL++ (N1QL) query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting of database-related issues.
• Manage database backup and recovery, disaster recovery (DR), failover, and Cross Data Center Replication (XDCR).
• Plan and execute Couchbase upgrades, patching, cluster rebalancing, and database maintenance with minimal business disruption.
• Monitor database health, resolve production incidents, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive measures.
• Implement database security standards, including RBAC, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams on database architecture, migrations, automation, and performance optimization initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities

The annual salary for this position is between $73,350 $115,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
