Job summary

E-INFOSOL LLC in Washington, DC is seeking a COTS System Administrator to support the implementation of a COTS physical access system. The Senior System Administrator will partner with the government Product Manager, provide technical direction, O&M support, and coordinate with vendors in an agile environment.

Required are a Top-Secret clearance, a bachelor's degree in IT/CS/engineering, and 8+ years in system administration, including Windows/Linux, SQL Server, and COTS deployments in

  • Active Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of IT/system administration experience.
  • 7+ years with Windows and/or Linux servers and VM platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
  • 5+ years deploying COTS products in government environments.
  • 7+ years scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
  • 7+ years knowledge of authentication services including Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum and Kanban frameworks/methodologies.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide development and O&M support for production systems.
  • Install, configure, and validate COTS software in test and production environments.
  • Coordinate integration with networking, server/VM admins, IAM and app owners.
  • Evaluate requirements, dependencies and integration points for readiness.
  • Prepare documentation for accreditation, compliance and security assessments.
  • Develop and maintain installation guides, configuration baselines and SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during testing and deployment phases.
  • Communicate status, risks and technical considerations to stakeholders.

COTS System Administrator

Salary Range: $187,000.00 To $193,400.00 Annually

E-INFOSOL LLC is seeking a highly motivatedCOTS System Administratorto join our innovative, customer-focused team in Washington, DC.

Summary

The COTSSystem Administratorwill support the implementation of a COTS physical access system. The Senior System Administrator will partner with the government Product Manager in providing technical direction and strategic solutions, O&M support, working with the vendor, and adhere to agile methodology and kanban and scrum ceremonies. Key skills needed for the position include experiences with the technology and business tools listed below and strong verbal and written skills and demonstrates self-organizing and initiative competencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide development and O&M support for a production system during core working hours and non-core working hours as needed to meet mission needs.
  • Understand and assist with the installation, configuration, and validation of the Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software product in test and production environments.
  • Coordinate integration activities with cross‑functional teams, including networking, server/VM administrators, identity and access management, and application owners.
  • Evaluate system requirements, dependencies, and integration points to ensure compatibility and operational readiness.
  • Understand, communicate, support and coordinate support activities including;
  • Networking - such as ports, protocols, firewalls, and load balancers as required for system connectivity.
  • Compute - such as server and virtual machine provisioning, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Database - collaborate with database teams to configure, query, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server instances.
  • Identity and Access – authentication and authorization mechanisms including single sign on and possess knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Integration - work with APIs and integration frameworks, including Microsoft Graph, to support data exchange and system interoperability.
  • Assist in preparing documentation required for system accreditation, compliance, and security assessments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including installation guides, configuration baselines, and operational procedures.
  • Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and issue resolution throughout testing and deployment phases.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical considerations clearly to stakeholders and leadership.

Qualification

  • Active Top-Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience
  • 7 years of experience understanding ports, protocols, firewalls, and network connectivity troubleshooting.
  • 7 years of experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments and virtual machine platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
  • Solid understanding of relational database concepts and 5 years of hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • 5 years of experience supporting COTS product deployments in government environments
  • 7 years of scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar) for automation or integration tasks.
  • 7 years of experience working knowledge of authentication and identity services, including Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Broad technical experience across networking, servers, virtualization, identity management, and system integration.
  • Solid understanding of system accreditation, compliance frameworks, or security assessment processes.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical requirements, identify gaps, and coordinate with specialized teams to resolve them.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum and Kanban frameworks/methodologies.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools to include Jira and Confluence.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative, work independently, and “roll up their sleeves” to drive tasks to completion.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with the Certipath TrustVistor or similar product.
