Berkshire Health & Rehabilitation Center in Vinton, VA is seeking a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our compassionate rehabilitation team. You will provide skilled therapy under the supervision of an OT to help residents achieve independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Active VA Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure.
• Associate’s degree from an accredited OTA program.
• NBCOT certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services under OT supervision.
• Implement individualized treatment plans to meet rehabilitation goals.
• Assist residents with ADLs: dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting.
• Administer activities and exercises to improve motor function and strength.
• Train residents in adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques.
• Explain procedures to residents to gain cooperation.
• Monitor progress and communicate outcomes to the supervising OT.
• Maintain detailed medical records of treatments and progress.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuum of care.
• Educate residents and families on techniques and safety post-discharge.
