Job summary

Bay Pointe Rehabilitation and Nursing seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team in Virginia Beach. You will work under a licensed OT to provide individualized, evidence-based treatment aimed at improving independence and quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities include implementing plans, guiding therapeutic activities, educating families, and documenting progress. We offer training, growth opportunities, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current COTA certification and/or eligibility for certification.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans created by the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and independence.
• Support patients in developing activities of daily living skills.
• Deliver care aligned with patient goals and needs.
• Encourage participation and monitor progress throughout treatment.
• Educate patients and families on techniques and exercises as directed.
• Document care and progress accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to ensure coordinated care.
