Job summary

The Kensington Sierra Madre in Sierra Madre, CA, is seeking a Full-Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our embedded therapy team. This role emphasizes real-life application of therapy within residents' daily routines and evening hours when clinically appropriate.

You will translate the plan of care into functional progress, work closely with residents and the OT team, and help residents achieve greater independence in ADLs and IADLs in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current COTA certification.
• Experience with residents living with dementia.
• Willing to flex schedule into evening hours when clinically needed.
• Enjoy working with older adults and building relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of the OT.
• Help residents improve independence in meaningful daily activities.
• Address ADLs and IADLs including dressing, grooming, toileting, transfers, functional mobility.
• Use real-life activities and the resident's environment for therapy.
• Adapt activities to support evening ADLs and functional goals.
• Document efficiently using Prava's technology and AI-enabled tools.
• Communicate observations and progress to the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families.
