Job summary

Stern Therapy Consultants is hiring a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at Autumn Lake at Scotch Plains, NJ. Qualifications

• Licensed as a New Jersey Occupational Therapist and certified as a COTA.
• Ability to follow individualized treatment plans with safety and resident comfort in mind.
• Strong communication and clinical documentation skills are essential.
• New graduates are welcome; skilled nursing facility experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate the OT's treatment plan into hands-on sessions focused on daily living goals.
• Assist residents with dressing, grooming, bathing, and toileting at appropriate levels of assistance.
• Incorporate prescribed exercises and functional activities to address coordination and endurance.
• Help residents use adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques as prescribed by the OT.
• Communicate changes in resident abilities and treatment tolerance to the supervising therapist.
• Record interventions and responses; share care strategies with nursing and rehab staff.

Stern Therapy Consultants is hiring a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at Autumn Lake at Scotch Plains. Support residents as they relearn familiar tasks and develop new ways to manage daily activities, providing skilled nursing rehabilitation under the supervising Occupational Therapist's direction.

What You'll Do

• Translate the OT's established treatment plan into hands-on sessions focused on daily living goals.
• Practice dressing, grooming, bathing, and toileting with residents at their appropriate level of assistance.
• Incorporate prescribed exercises and functional activities to address coordination, upper-extremity function, and endurance.
• Help residents become comfortable using adaptive equipment and compensatory techniques recommended by the OT.
• Communicate changes in resident abilities, participation, and treatment tolerance to the supervising therapist.
• Record interventions and responses accurately, sharing care strategies with nursing and other rehabilitation staff.
