Job summary

North Dade Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Miami, FL is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to support the occupational therapy team in helping patients regain independence in daily living and functional tasks.

As a COTA, you will assist with treatment plans, lead therapeutic activities, monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with therapists, speech and physical therapists to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications

• NBCOT-certified COTA required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor's preferred.
• 0 years experience required; prior COTA experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, transfer and reposition patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist occupational therapists in development and modification of treatment plans.
• Provide hands-on therapy, exercises, and ADL training.
• Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and exercise programs.
• Maintain accurate records of treatments and progress.
• Collaborate with OTs, SLPs, and PTs for comprehensive care.
• Participate in patient care conferences and care plan development.
• Conduct patient assessments and screenings as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by OT department.
