Job summary

North Dade Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Miami, Florida, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our care team. You will work with licensed OTs to help patients develop, recover or maintain daily living and work skills.

Responsibilities include assisting with transfers, ambulation, exercise programs and ADLs, maintaining detailed records, and collaborating with OT, speech and physical therapy colleagues to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Current NBCOT certification as a COTA.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
• 0 years of experience required; previous experience as a COTA preferred.
• Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet patient needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist occupational therapists in the development, implementation, and modification of treatment plans for patients.
• Provide hands-on therapy to patients, including exercises, activities, and training on daily living skills.
• Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and exercise programs.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatments and progress.
• Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, and physical therapists to ensure comprehensive care.
• Participate in patient care conferences and contribute to the development of care plans.
• Conduct patient assessments and screenings as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the occupational therapy department.
