Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to treat patients of all ages and support staff and students as a clinical resource. The role emphasizes following the plan of care, adapting interventions to patient response, and documenting progress in a timely manner.

The candidate will educate patients and families, perform ROM assessments, and contribute to quality assurance activities while collaborating with the therapist and care team.

Responsibilities

• Follows the therapist's plan of care and communicates with the evaluating therapist.
• Implements patient-centered, occupation-based intervention plans.
• Adapts activities to meet physical, cognitive, and behavioral needs.
• Collaborates with patient, family and significant others throughout the OT process.
• Documents progress clearly and accurately for payers.
• Performs range of motion measurements for elbow, wrist, and hand.
• Provides ADL training including dressing and cooking skills.
• Performs therapeutic ultrasound and, when applicable, fluidotherapy treatments.
• Maintains daily documentation and charging in the therapy EMR.
• Communicates patient progress with referring providers.
