Job summary

Palmetto Subacute Care Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide treatment under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, progress notes, and collaboration across disciplines to ensure high-quality patient care.

Experience in long-term or geriatric care is preferred. The position requires punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to perform duties assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of Occupational Therapist.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not limited to.
• Well versed with documentation writing.
• Document patient’s progress on weekly progress note in a timely fashion.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.

Responsibilities

• Carry out best practice treatments under supervision of OT.
• Provide feedback to supervising occupational therapist via documentation or in any other method required by facility policy.
• Document patient progress on weekly progress notes and communicate changes.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure optimal patient-centered care.
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and demonstrate professionalism.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Director of Rehabilitation.
