Job summary

River's Edge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Philadelphia seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support residents under a Registered OT. You will implement treatment plans and contribute to a compassionate care team.

The role emphasizes independence, communication with residents and families, and collaboration with rehab staff to promote functional outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises.
• Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist.
• Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities for residents.
• Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy.
• Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
• Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
