Job summary

Brookhaven Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist. You will implement PT programs and help residents increase independence and functioning.

The role emphasizes ADL trainings, ROM exercises, and collaboration with the rehab team, with documentation and participation in meetings to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB).
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides ADL and ROM-based occupational therapy treatments.
• Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the OT direction.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups with OT supervision.
• Instructs residents and families in OT treatment techniques.
• Collaborates with rehab team to develop resident-specific programs.
• Maintains timely documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends care and staffing meetings as OT representative.
