Always Best Care Senior Services - Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our home health team. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver skilled therapy in patients' homes, focusing on activities of daily living and safe independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited COTA program.
• Current New Mexico COTA license in good standing.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Home health experience preferred, but enthusiastic and compassionate clinicians are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Assist patients in improving functional mobility, self-care skills, upper extremity function, coordination, strength, balance, and independence with daily activities.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, activities, and functional task training appropriate to the established plan of care.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, energy conservation techniques, and home safety strategies.
• Observe, document, and communicate patient progress, responses to treatment, and changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Complete accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain compliance with Medicare regulations, agency policies, and professional standards of practice.
