Job summary

Rutland Center for Living and Rehabilitation is seeking a COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) to join our team in Rutland, Vermont. You will work closely with occupational therapists to promote independence, mobility, and overall well-being for our patients.

You will assist in implementing treatment plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• COTA certified/licensed as required in Vermont.
• Experience supporting occupational therapy goals with adults.
• Strong communication with patients and families.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
• Attention to accurate record-keeping and progress notes.

Responsibilities

• Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients, focusing on strengthening, walking, and functional mobility exercises
• Conduct occupational therapy treatments, including range of motion exercises, muscle strengthening, and functional activities
• Use assistive technology, such as wheelchairs, walkers, and assistive devices, to enhance patient mobility and independence
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on proper use of assistive devices and compensatory strategies to maintain independence
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient treatment and progress
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
• Adapt and modify treatment plans as needed to meet changing patient needs
