Job summary

Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home Company Inc. seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to provide direct OT services to residents under the supervision of an OTR.

You will document care, participate in care planning, and help develop programs to improve residents’ functioning while adhering to infection-control policies. The role requires completion of a 2-year OTA program and active state licensure, with duties including meetings, scheduling, and maintaining a professional standard of care

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year OTA program.
• Maintain state licensure.
• Ability to relate to ill, disabled elderly residents.
• Ability to follow written orders under OTR supervision.
• Maintain professional communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatment to residents as prescribed by the physician and under OTR supervision.
• Complete and co-sign all required documentation.
• Attend required facility meetings as directed by DOR/ADOR or supervisor.
• Develop programs to improve residents’ highest feasible functioning.
• Maintain infection control practices and safety standards.
• Schedule residents on caseload and manage in-services and meetings.
• Monitor productivity and inform leadership if staffing needs arise.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
