Job summary

M2 Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide skilled OT services under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist in a long-term care setting.

You will implement and adjust treatment plans, monitor patient responses, document progress, and collaborate with the OT team to support resident rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Must have an active OT Assistant license in NY.
• Long term care experience preferred.
• Ability to manage patients with different personalities.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled occupational therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Responds to requests for service by relaying information and referral to Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Implements and modifies the patient's occupational therapy plan of treatment with OTR supervision.

• The Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition and other pertinent information as required.

COTA requirements include:

• Must have an active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in good standing in the state of NY.
• Long term care experience preferred
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
