Position Summary:

Responsible for providing quality client care while maintaining a positive and effective level of interaction between staff members, clients, family members, and other healthcare professionals. Performs duties under the direction of the Occupational Therapist and administers treatment as directed.

Job duties:

  • Adheres to Federal, State, local, and Bethany Village standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines; and the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Code of Ethics while providing quality care and treatment to residents.
  • Provides treatment as directed and acts as an assistant to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Adheres to OSHA standards and is responsible for the residents’ safety at all times while under care and treatment.
  • Participates in individual residential rehabilitation planning and meetings.
  • Interacts with residents, family members, staff member, and other healthcare professionals to promote efficient and quality care to the residents.
  • Adheres to infection control policies, professional therapeutic services, and Bethany Village’s policies and procedures at all times while providing care to residents.
  • Maintains an adequate inventory of adaptive aids for residents.
  • Performs home assessments with analysis in conjunction with the Occupational Therapist.
  • Participates in projects, program development, and quality assurance programs as directed.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization regarding the use of technology and technology-based information.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) program. Ohio License or eligible for a license as a COTA.
  • At least one year experience, in geriatrics or subacute care; long-term health care setting preferred.
