Life Care Center of McMinnville (near Portland) is a long-term care and post-acute care facility, well known for its extraordinary customer service, high-quality nursing and therapy services, and high employee morale and retention. We are currently looking for a full-time or PRN Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team.

Position Summary
The COTA provides direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, And Licensure Requirements
  • NBCOT certified upon hire; renewal is optional
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT)
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State; active license in good standing throughout employment
  • One (1) year experience in post-acute care or related setting preferred
  • CPR certification upon hire or during orientation; must remain current
Specific Job Requirements
  • Participate in community health projects as appropriate
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Coordinate with patients, families, and support departments to plan patient needs
  • Demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
  • Make independent decisions when warranted
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and procedures governing post-acute care
  • Implement and interpret department programs, policies, and procedures
  • Perform competently in all areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and vendors
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
  • Follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Adhere to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and complete mandatory training
Essential Functions
  • Follow occupational treatment plans under OT supervision
  • Chart appropriately and timely
  • Use therapy software accurately
  • Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude
  • Assist in patient evacuation if needed
  • Maintain dependable attendance
  • Use reasoning and good judgment
  • Communicate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Perform physical activities as required during work hours
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English
