Job/Department Summary

The Costume Shop Assistant, working independently under the lead work direction of the Performing Arts Technician III in the costume department, is a member of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts professional production team, serving the programmatic needs of the College and The School of the Arts. This position is responsible for a variety of technical and support duties, providing costumes for theatre arts and musical productions. This position focuses on production support specific to costume design, construction and general costume shop support. Incumbent is responsible for organizing their own projects, including communicating project materials, labor needs, timelines, and assisting in the training and supervision of students involved in productions.

Required Education And Experience

Two years of experience working for a theater, repertory, stock company or garment industry engaged in the applicable production specialty such as costume/garment construction, alterations, or pattern making. This background normally would be achieved through professional training or applicable college coursework and practical experience.

Preferences

• Theatrical fabrication experience.

Time Base: Part-time (.60)

Pay Plan: 10/12 (June & July off)

CSU Classification Salary Range: .60 timebase $22,327 (Step 1) - $32,522 (Step 20) per year.
