Job summary

Kaufman Rossin seeks a Cost Segregation Engineer to join our Tax practice in South Florida. The role focuses on cost estimation, construction management, and tangible property services. You will work with engineers and tax experts to identify asset classifications.

Travel locally and nationally is required. Ideal candidate has 1-3 years in cost segregation and a relevant engineering or architecture degree. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Undergrad degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• 1–3 years of Cost Segregation experience.
• Ability to read and analyze construction blueprints.
• Role requires some local and national travel.
• Experience with cost estimation, construction management, or tangible property services is preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and strong writing skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost segregation and fixed asset studies from start to finish.
• Coordinate and collect information from building owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Conduct site visits to collect information.
• Assist with detailed cost analyses of commercial/industrial building projects.
• Perform quantity surveys from construction documents and site inspections.
• Analyze construction cost data and design drawings.
• Estimate construction costs using recognized costing sources.
• Contribute to the development of the cost segregation practice.

Requirements

What Skills You’ll Bring

• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or other relevant fields
• 1 - 3 years of Cost Segregation experience

• Ability to understand and analyze construction blueprints
• This position requires some local and national travel
