Kaufman Rossin is seeking a Staff-level Cost Segregation Engineer to join our South Florida Tax practice. The role focuses on identifying advantageous asset classifications through cost estimation, site visits, and collaboration with engineers and tax professionals.

The ideal candidate has an engineering degree and experience with cost estimation, construction management, and tangible property services, with willingness to travel locally and nationally to serve clients.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Knowledge of cost estimation and construction methods is required.
• Ability to work with building owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost segregation and fixed asset studies from start to finish
• Coordinate information from building owners, architects, engineers, and contractors
• Conduct site visits to collect information
• Assist with detailed cost analysis of commercial/industrial projects
• Perform quantity surveys from construction documents and site inspections
• Analyze construction cost data and design drawings
• Estimate construction costs using nationally recognized costing sources
• Actively contribute to the development of the cost segregation practice
