Brunel Energy is seeking a Senior Cost/Schedule Project Controls Specialist to support a major oil and gas project in Spring, TX or Baton Rouge, LA on an initial 12-month contract. The role emphasizes planning, scheduling, cost controls, and startup integration.

You will lead schedule development, analytics, and reporting, coordinating with estimators, planners, schedulers, and project managers to ensure FEED through commissioning alignment and AWP processes.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of planning, scheduling, and project controls experience.
• Strong scheduling analytics experience and resource-loaded schedules.
• Experience integrating FEED through commissioning and startup.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in I&E or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain project schedules and cost controls.
• Produce schedule summaries and identify risks.
• Perform detailed schedule analytics and health assessments.
• Evaluate resource requirements and validate schedule logic.
• Develop and review cost estimates and project controls deliverables.
• Maintain change control, cost reports, and project controls documentation.
• Coordinate with estimators, planners, schedulers, accounting staff, PMs, and team leads.
• Monitor progress measurement and monthly progress reports.
• Support schedule integration from FEED through commissioning and startup.
• Apply Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) processes.

Brunel Energy is recruiting a Cost/Schedule Project Controls Specialist to work with a major oil and gas company on an initially 12-month contract in Spring, TX or Baton Rouge, LA.

Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Senior Cost/Schedule/Project Controls Specialist to support the development and startup of a synthetic graphite facility in Kentucky. This role will focus heavily on planning, scheduling, schedule analysis, project controls, and startup/commissioning schedule integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain project schedules and cost controls.
• Develop high-level schedule summaries and identify schedule risks and vulnerabilities.
• Perform detailed schedule analytics and schedule health assessments.
• Evaluate resource-loaded schedules and validate schedule logic and resource requirements.
• Develop and review cost estimates and project controls deliverables.
• Maintain change control, cost reports, and project controls documentation.
• Prepare check estimates and schedules to validate contractor/operator submissions.
• Support verification of project cost and schedule bases.
• Coordinate with estimators, planners, schedulers, accounting staff, project managers, and team leads.
• Monitor progress measurement and progress stewardship, including strategic key milestones, and coordinate and assemble monthly progress reports.
• Support schedule integration from FEED through commissioning and startup.
• Apply and support Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) processes.

Required Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and project controls, including brownfield projects and turnarounds.
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, with advanced knowledge of project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and project controls.
• Strong schedule analytics experience, including resource-loaded schedules, progress measurement and reporting, and strategic milestone management.
• Experience integrating schedules from FEED through commissioning and startup, with knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) processes.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage cross-functional project teams.
• Bachelor's degree in I&E Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Owner/operator or EPC experience.
• Experience supporting facility startup and commissioning.
• Experience in regulated and non-regulated project accounting/reporting environments.
