Job description

Brunel is currently recruiting a Planning and Scheduling Lead III to support a major oil and gas capital project. This is a senior level project controls role focused on schedule development, control, analysis, and forecasting, with strong interaction across contractors, project leadership, and functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project scheduling, progress measurement, and change management activities.
  • Steward contractor scheduling teams and ensure compliance with project controls standards.
  • Develop and maintain Level 1 and Level 2 integrated project schedules.
  • Review, validate, and endorse contractor schedule baselines and forecasts.
  • Identify schedule risks, deviations, and trends, and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Develop, review, and track implementation of schedule recovery plans.
  • Evaluate schedule impacts of project changes and incorporate approved changes into the master schedule.
  • Monitor and report schedule implications related to scope, change, and execution.
  • Ensure integration of subcontractor schedules and progress measurement systems.
  • Monitor contractor performance against approved baseline schedules.
  • Analyze progress data and develop reliable schedule forecasts for management decision-making.
  • Participate in contract bid evaluations related to schedule assessments.
  • Ensure schedules align with permitting, regulatory, and external interface requirements.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to the owner and contractor schedule engineers.
  • Capture lessons learned related to schedule and progress performance.
  • Promote capital efficiency across assigned projects.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
  • Experience in Project Controls, Project Services, or Planning and Scheduling.
  • Prior supervisory or lead-level experience.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6.
  • Strong analytical, consulting, mentoring, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent analysis requests.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to relocate to the project site and work overseas if required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior oil and gas industry experience.
  • Experience supporting large capital projects or EPC contractors.
  • Experience working with regulatory and permitting schedule interfaces.
  • Schedule: Standard rotation, 5 days on / 2 days off.
  • Work hours: 40 hours per week.
  • Travel: Expenses reimbursed in accordance with company travel policies.
