Job summary

Amazon's Worldwide Grocery Stores, Growth & Development team seeks a Cost Estimator to join our Store Development group. You’ll build program-level cost baselines, drive portfolio analytics, and deliver executive insights across 600+ locations, interfacing with design, construction, finance, procurement, and external consultants.

You’ll influence cost models, governance, and AI-enabled analytics while ensuring data quality and scalability for future store formats and capital programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of cost management or construction cost experience.
• Advanced Excel and statistical analysis skills.
• Experience with Power BI, Python, SQL, or Tableau for data analysis.
• Experience working with General Contractors and construction consultants on cost deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain program-level cost baselines across store formats and retail concepts.
• Execute portfolio-wide budget variance analyses and reconcile spend against baselines.
• Support proforma updates and collaborate on trade-offs affecting financial goals.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly cost performance data for leadership review.
• Engage with general contractors and consultants to gather cost data and validate assumptions.
• Support governance, data quality, and process improvements in CM systems.
• Contribute to AI and analytics strategy by gathering requirements and tracking impact.
• Apply lessons learned to sharpen cost baselines for new formats and programs.
