Job summary

HDR is seeking a Cost Estimator II in Las Vegas, NV, to perform general and discipline cost estimating for capital projects. The role develops Work Breakdown Structures, analyzes market labor rates, and prepares cost and schedule deliverables across multiple disciplines.

Candidates should have a Civil/Construction-related degree and 5+ years of estimating experience, with proficiency in Primavera and Timberline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Science Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in producing estimates in a competitive environment and assessing cost risks.
• Knowledge of EPC estimating methods, processes, and components.
• Experience with Lump Sum Design Build estimates and design packages.
• Knowledge of market pricing and pricing sources; work breakdown structures.
• Proficiency with Primavera and Timberline; active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform general or discipline cost estimating generating capital cost and/or services estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings for multidiscipline sections and customize forms.
• Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) based on project requirements and schedule.
• Prepare capital costs estimates using unit-cost or crew-based approaches; model crews.
• Identify and obtain vendor quotes for major cost drivers and document data sources.
