The Cost Engineer will work under the Project Controls Manager, collaborate with field teams, and ensure accurate cost reporting across multiple underground initiatives. This position is based on site in Tempe, AZ and requires strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or equivalent.
• 3-4 years of construction experience.
• Ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of contracts and contract language.
• Ability to identify, prioritize and mitigate project risk.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain budgets for the project, including changes.
• Support cost tracking, reporting, and forecasting.
• Assist with change order management process.
• Assist with cost estimates and negotiation for additional work.
• Assist with monthly project cost forecasting.
• Participate in subcontractor and material quote analysis.
• Prepare quarterly project audits with team input.
• Provide supervision and training to staff as needed.
• Assist with project close-out.
• Strengthen customer relationships.
