Job summary

Haugland Group, a privately owned civil infrastructure and energy construction company based on Long Island/New York, is seeking a Cost Engineer to join the Project Management team in the Westchester area. This role involves cost control, budget analysis, and coordination with the PM and accounting teams.

We value initiative and organizational skills; the candidate should have 1+ year of relevant experience and a degree in construction management or electrical engineering.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of relevant experience, ideally in energy-infrastructure construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
• Display initiative, effort and commitment to completing assignments on time.

Responsibilities

• Track the project scope by line items related to the job phases and schedule.
• Identify cost slippage, overruns, savings opportunities and report to PM.
• Support the project team in preparation/review of change orders and costs.
• Review and verify craft labor timesheets from the Foreman.
• Code and approve invoices with Accounts Payable and Contract Administration.
• Coordinate with PM and Contract Administrator to prepare monthly client requisitions.
• Assist in preparation of financial reporting.
