Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking a Project Accountant to support project execution at a surface mine plant near Charlotte, SC. You will handle basic day-to-day accounting, analyze expenditures, forecast costs, and report on project performance against budget, scope and schedule.

Responsibilities include maintaining cost controls, updating budgets and reforecasts, developing mitigation strategies to protect both budget and schedule, managing general ledger accounts, generating reports on variances, and

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of accounting experience in a related field.
• Certifications in accounting or cost control (CPA, CMA, CFA, CCP, CCC) highly regarded.
• Degree qualified in an accounting or finance related discipline.
• Knowledge of finance and accounting best practices.
• Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of Pronto will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate day-to-day accounting, analysis, forecasting of expenditures and reporting on project performance.
• Own cost controls ensuring compliance to budget, scope and schedule at all stages.
• Manage budget updates and reforecasts in line with project schedule with Studies Team.
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies to maintain budget and schedule through completion.
• Manage project general ledger accounts and month-end processes for proper cost allocation.
• Create reports on project performance relating to schedule and costs (budgets, actuals, forecasts, variances).
• Assist in updates and review of Project Execution policies in line with company policies.
