Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking a Sr. Cost Controller—Construction Projects. You will lead cost control for Haile’s construction projects in South Carolina, ensuring budgets, schedules, and forecasts are accurate and aligned with project goals.

You will oversee a team of cost controllers, drive variances analysis, and report on project performance while upholding GAAP and SOX controls. The role offers a competitive salary, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of accounting experience in a related field.
• Certifications in accounting or cost control will be highly regarded (CPA/CMA/CFA/CCP/CCC).
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; Master’s degree advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost controls to ensure budgets, scope, and schedule are met across project stages.
• Update budgets and reforecasts in line with project schedules with the Projects Team.
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies to maintain budget and schedule.
• Administer project general ledger accounts and month‑end processes for proper cost allocation.
• Create reports on project performance (budgets, actuals, forecasts, variances).
• Use Earned Value Management (EVM) to compare reals to budget and communicate to management.
• Ensure SOX compliance in procurement and project reporting structures.
