Myers & Sons Construction, LLC is seeking a Cost Control Engineer for an on-site role in the Los Angeles Metro area, CA. The position supports a multi-year CMGC project intended to widen the I-105 corridor, with initial phase around $400 million and total scope near $1 billion.

You will develop understanding of project documents, manage cost reporting, and coordinate with owners, subcontractors, and LA Metro. Procore and accounting tools will be central to daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Construction Management, or Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in complex highway or structures construction projects in California.
• Experience with subcontracts, subcontractors and self-perform work.
• Excellent organizational and team management skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on site to help solve problems during construction.
• Manage documents within Procore and maintain contract understanding with LA Metro.
• Monitor project costs and prepare Job Cost Reports.
• Analyze monthly Total Cost Projection reports and forecast costs.
• Monitor project labor and assist in managing the quality control program.
• Develop and lead document control for submittals, RFIs, and Change Orders.

Position Description

We are currently looking for a Project Cost/Controls Engineer who is ready to engage in a large alternative delivery (CMGC) project in Los Angeles County. This project is a multi‑year project that will widen the 105 freeway from the 405 to the 605. This widening will increase HOV capacity, reduce congestion along the corridor and introduce tolling to the 105. Phase one of the project is starting at $400 Million, and the remaining phases will push the project towards $1 Billion. This is a great opportunity to join the team prior to the project breaking ground and contribute to the success of this critical project to improve mobility ahead of the 2028 Olympics.

We are looking for a person that is capable of developing a deep understanding of the project documents, including; the contract with the owner, subcontracts, cost reports and specifications. This person should feel comfortable navigating and working within accounting and project documentation software, be detailed oriented with experience in the construction industry. The position is directly accountable for the financial performance and reporting, document control and project controls on site.

This position will integrate with the project controls team that focuses quality management and reports, project cost and quantity reports, schedule development, procurement, equipment efficiencies, document control, and as‑builts preparation & coordination. Your role on the structures team will depend on your desires as well as strengths and previous experience. You will need to develop and maintain strong relationships with the subcontractors, and suppliers as well LA Metro, Caltrans and the Construction Managers staff.
