Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Cost Control Specialist in Chicago to support project financial management for transmission, energy, and infrastructure initiatives.

You will manage project budgets, prepare EAC forecasts, and lead monthly cost reviews with project teams and leadership, ensuring expenditures align with budgets. On-site role with a focus on accurate reporting and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Construction, or related field.
• 10 years of experience in project controls, project management support, or finance/accounting roles.
• Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong financial reporting and cost tracking skills.
• Ability to analyze project budgets and support financial forecasting.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Prepare and update EAC forecasts for active projects.
• Perform monthly cost reporting and financial reviews with project teams and leadership.
• Monitor project expenditures and identify financial risks and mitigation strategies.
• Support procurement activities including supplier setup, purchase requisitions, and purchase orders.
• Manage invoice processing and ensure accurate financial documentation.
• Track vendor and subcontractor expenditures to ensure project costs are properly recorded.
• Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to maintain financial alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
